Day 3 – TEAM Bootcamp Diaries

Well today was something else, today was quite possibly the hardest and most challenging day of my life both physically and mentally! I never for one second envisioned this bootcamp to be to this level of intensity but it is absolutely amazing (in a very painful kinda way haha)!

Waking up at 6am was a challenge although I did have a really good nights sleep :) this mornings first session was running before breakfast which the trainers told us was so we would burn our fat stores and aid weight loss so I guess this was a good thing right? Mannnnn this was so hard and for me I am so used to carbs and sugary foods in large quantities I was really feeling the transition this morning and it made me feel weak and emotional to the point I had a little teary moment, mainly because I was feeling frustrated at how much I was struggling but after a few short motivational words from one of the trainers Bear and a brief moment under his ‘wing’ I pulled myself together and made it through!

Breakfast was fab again today, several cups of coffee with almond milk and some bacon and eggs and I was ready to go! Session 2 was military style to the max – tyre flips, log pulls and sprints but I actually found this session so much fun, working in a team competing against one another meant it kind of put our minds off what we were actually doing and just made us focus on the task at hand :) Break time was good today too, we had sweet potato and chorizo which was UNREAL and before we knew it the next session of circuits was up – another tough session but working to 45 seconds on and 45 seconds off meant it went fast switching between squat trusts, sit ups and bench squats which really fricking burnt!!

Final session before lunch was boxing, focusing on the upper body and pad work and I’m not going to lie but at this point, 3 sessions in I was feeling so energy less I almost think I could have fallen asleep standing up, infact I was pretty useless!! I did my best and made it to the end so I was at least proud of myself for that :)

Lunch was mince beef and shredded parsnip with cauliflower rice which was a massive hit with the campers and I was a very happy bunny after this! We only had one more team activity session to go before we could finally relax and thankfully snack time again at 4.30pm came around before we knew it! It was now time to grab a shower and chill before dinner, some of the campers decided to go in the pool as a form of ‘ice bath’ to soothe the muscles but I decided to give that one a miss as a hot shower was far more appealing 😉

In my PJ’s with my herbal tea all tucked up in bed at 7pm and here we are, another day at TEAM Bootcamp done and dusted. Tomorrow is another active recovery day meaning a long walk in the morning and I think we have a glute workout session in the afternoon but hopefully a much easier day tomorrow!
