So I am currently sitting in my bed at 8pm writing this post, eyes are heavy, legs are sore, belly is unsatisfied but all in all the main thing is that I SURVIVED DAY 2 and I feel so proud of myself!!!!!
Starting off from this morning, I had a pretty rubbish sleep as my body was just aching all over and I felt like my mind just wouldn’t switch off but before I new it the alarm was going and it was 7am aka TIME TO GET UP! Thankfully this meant I could indulge in my morning coffee that is to be my saviour for the remainder of the week her haha (if you know me personally that will totally mean something to you!) Breakfast this morning was SO good and I was so happy to be able to start the day with a full and satisfied tummy, bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes – YES YES YES! Post breakfast we had a nutrition talk from one of the trainers Rhy’s which was one of the highlights for me as that is one aspect I really struggle with, knowing what to eat, what not to eat and why are something I never really got my head around over the years so I soaked in as much knowledge from him as I could and realised that just because something says ‘no added sugar’ DOES NOT, I REPEAT DOES NOT mean it does’t have any sugar LOL read those labels kids 😉
As today was classed as an ‘active recovery day’ at camp which meant our sessions would be slightly less intense, the first session was a 3 our walk where we walked a total of around 7 miles stopping half way for a snack of fruit and nuts, a walk she says, yeah sounds a doddle but after yesterdays sessions and the severe DOMS I was feeling all over made sure this was not easy it all and I felt shattered when we finally made it back to the house at 1pm!
Lunch was served at 1.30pm sharp and it was by far the best meal so far for me! We had a healthy paleo style Sunday roast with a gravy of some sort that made everything taste 100000 times more appealing, not to mention the generous serving of sweet potato that was like candy to a baby!!! I felt full, satisfied and overall just happy after this meal and was looking forward to an afternoon strength session that was focused on weights/upper body exercises. The weight session was hard but hard in a different way, a different kinda pain, as the trainer yells ‘FEEL THE BURN’ into my ear as I’m struggling to make that last rep. Post session felt great because we all knew that was it for the day, the tough stuff was over and we could now relax, some were to attend a meditation session that was optional to all campers but for me, I wanted to have a bit of me time to shower and reflect on the days so far so I skipped this one
Dinner was at 6pm and we all gathered in the eating room waiting eagerly for our next meal to be served, grilled chicken and salad with a beetroot dressing which was lovely just not quite as filling as my usual evening meals at home, but hey thats why I’m here right? As soon as dinner was over I made my cup of Cherry & cinnamon tea and here I am, snuggled up all cosy feeling happy with today and what I achieved – another early is in store as tomorrow is going to be TOUGH and I need to try and be prepared haha so time to leave it here guys but I’ll be back tomorrow!
