As some of you who follow me have probably seen on my instagram and snapchat, I have recently been on holiday in Marbella, Spain with my two best friends. In fact, just to make you all super jealous I was at this precise moment sat in a stunning courtyard surrounded by palm trees with a cocktail by my side while I was typing this post 😉 Marbella is somewhere I have wanted to visit for a while but just never got round to booking it, I always thought of it as a girls holiday kind of location similar to Ibiza but with a little more class and I can say it really is exactly that. The vibe there is amazing, everyone is so polite and friendly, it oozes class/wealth and everything just looks so fresh and well taken care of, basically it is right up my street lol not to mention the weather is perfect we did not have a cloud in the sky the entire 4 days we were there!!
Let’s move on to the main reason I am doing this post which is the accommodation we stayed in during our time here, Hotel Los Monteros Golf and Spa Resort. I have already shared a few images on my instagram mainly pool side and palm tree related of course ha but I am going to add a load more below for you to see in much more detail where we have stayed. I can honestly say that although the pictures will give you a good idea of the level of luxury we have experienced, they really do not do the resort justice at all!! I was lucky enough to be contacted by the hotel with the opportunity to collaborate and experience what they have to offer their guests, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get a cheeky girls trip in this summer so I couldn’t snap the chance up sooner and dragged my two bestie along for the trip 😉
Here is a few pictures for you guys:
Stunning huh? Surrounded by palm trees, beautifully manicured grounds, smiles from the most wonderfully welcoming hotel staff and the smell of fresh flowers. Literally this place is everything and more you could want from a 5* hotel, we were even welcomed with fresh lemon infused ice cold water (it’s the little things OK and seeing as a bottle of water in Marbs is a crazy 5euros!!!! we were so happy with the free water ha) Upon arrival, after being collected from the airport an driven to the hotel by the lovely car driver (Roal I think his name was :\) from the hotel, we checked ourselves in effortlessly at the main reception. Our bags were carried for us instantly and once we received our room keys and other information regarding our stay we were taken to our room which was a short walk towards the back end of the main hotel.
We had decided to stay at the hotel for 3 nights and as there were 3 of us the hotel very kindly upgraded us for free to a Junior Suite, this was totally complimentary and so exciting as I can’t say it’s everyday I look at suite options when holiday hotel hunting…. 😉 When our room door opened all three of us couldn’t believe it, the room was absolutely amazing as you can see from the pictures above!!! (Just an FYI the big bed you can see was honestly ridiculous, so big all three of us slept in there with great ease haha)
We were given complimentary fresh fruit, chocolates and a bottle of champagne in our room and honestly we cannot thank the hotel enough for how they treated us, our accommodation really was perfect and we couldn’t fault it if we tried. We felt like queens the entire 3 nights and it was just bliss!!
Now lets talk food!! So, we had a full champagne breakfast included in our stay for all 3 nights which again, if you know me and my love for food, was just heaven! The breakfast buffet took the word buffet to a whole new level and I almost felt a little stressed each morning as choosing what to have was so hard I just wanted to eat everything haha there was a HUGE selection of fruit, pastries, bread, cold meats, cheeses, hot food made fresh to your preference, juices, coffee and even smoked salmon on tap to your hearts content!!! Quality wise it was 10/10, none of it was like the over processed cheap rubbish you usually get in basic hotel breakfasts and all three of us were so impressed with the food in general. We didn’t eat in the main restaurant during our stay but we did have lunch most days by the pool bar which was a section of lovely tapas type starters, sandwiches or more main meals like burgers and pasta etc, the quality of this poolside bar food was just as impressive and the portions were absolutely massive! Overall the food was a massive hit and wouldn’t fault it at all
Leisure activities and things to do
The hotel honestly was full to the brim with things to do for all age ranges! There was a stunning outdoor pool surrounded by palm trees and super comfy lounge beds which was topped of by first class cocktail waitress service delivering the best Pina Colada’s ever to your bedside!! There was also a beautiful spa situated inside the hotel, we visited this one of the days and undertook their thermal circuit which consisted of all different types of steam rooms and whirl pools and heated chairs – BLISS! There was a small but well equipped gym (which i’m not going to lie, we did not use haha) and lastly one of the main attractions was their beautiful golf course which we could tell was the highlight to many of the residence.
La Cabana Beach Club
The pictures below will pretty much speak for themselves with this sub section, honestly no words for how unreal this place was, literally paradise and was absolutely gutted when our day here was over!! We were so lucky to have a VIP bed at the beach club, in a private area literally overlooking the sea, it was breathtaking – I’m sure some of you saw my many snapchats when we were here haha! The club is a short buggy ride from the hotel, the hotel provides golf buggy transfer of hotel guests free of charge and they are very regular. We had such a wonderful welcome from the club staff, taken to our bed and given free champagne and fresh fruit on arrival as well as waiter service the entire day we felt like royalty 😉 the club is part of the hotel but it also open to the public but there is an entrance free and also a charge for the beds which need to be reserved but they are so worth it and I would definitely recommend booking a bed if you do plan on visiting the club! The Club is situated right on the beach from so you can access a stunning sandy beach just by going down a few steps linked to the beach club. There is also a gorgeous restaurant there, we didn’t actually go and sit into the restaurant but we did order the food to our bed and it was YUM!!!
Location wise this hotel is around a 30 minute drive from the airport, our transfer was kindly included in the package we had but it would cost around 35euros if you got a taxi and if there are a couple of you it works out pretty cheap the hotel is situated just off a main dual carriageway and is about a 25 minute taxi ride to Puerto Banus which is where we spent most of our nights as that is where most of the best clubs, bars and restaurants are! We were really happy with the location to be honest, it was also super close to Nikki beach and Plaza beach which are two parties hot spots!
AMAZING. We had the most incredible time in Marbella and cannot thank Los Monteros enough <3 everything was perfect and we cannot wait to go back again next year!
I hope you all enjoyed reading this post, my first travel post woo if your thinking of going to Marbella then please please check this place out, whether it be to stay or just to visit the beach club or use the golf course it really is such a beautiful place
Lots of love,
